The latest report by ETTech quoting the person involved in the case said that cheap Android smartphones designed in partnership with Reliance Jio and Google will be launched before Diwali this year. According to the report, the phone has gone through research and development levels and is currently on testing stage for manufacturing units of Wingtech Mobiles, Dixon Technologies, UTL Neolyncs, and Flextronics Technologies.
Tell you, it is being said that this phone can cost $50 (approximately Rs. 3,639). Moreover, even though the phone will be launched before Diwali, pre-booking of the phone will be started before the launch, which the report says, which the pre-booking may start in India in the coming months.
According to reports, Google will optimize the software for this phone while Chinese Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) will be the job of Wingtech design its hardware while other vendors will assemble the device.
It may be recalled that earlier it was believed that Reliance Jio could launch 100 million cheap Android smartphones by the end of 2020 or early 2021. But that did not happen. Now it will be interesting to see how true this latest leak proves to be.
